Audience Feedback- Polls

The audience of my music video will appeal to most ages from the age of 10. People will find the video interesting and funny to watch. It will be aesthetically pleasing and very enjoyable. I believe that the main audience will be 10-18 year olds but I think that all ages, both male and female will love the video and energy applied. Younger children will enjoy the video as it is all about "expressing yourself". This is all about having fun and not caring about what anyone else thinks of you. This is why in the video my main character and many other people will be taking part in random and different activities living life to the full.

Due to the age target audience I will be aiming my music video at the S.E.G. group 'E'. This is because this group will either still be in full time or part time education or they will not have a disposable income.
In my polls the majority of the people that have answered the questions are under the S.E.G. group 'E'. Although there are a few that fall under the 'A' and 'B' category and this means that they should be able to afford to buy the video.

The genre of my music video is R&B because from knowledge I know that this is one of the most popular genres, if not the most popular. This is because the genre takes up the majority of the charts and chart music is what people listen to the most.

Contingency Plan!

There are many things that could go wrong in pre production, production and post production.
One of the things that could go wrong is that one of my actors could pull out for whatever reason. I have made sure I have a back up actor so i aren't running around trying to find another one when I could be filming.
Another problem that you will see occur in a lot of filming is that a location where you wanted to film is unavailable to use. For example a few of my shots are outside and if the weather is bad I will have a shooting schedule with me in order so that we can go inside and film another one of the shots.
Another thing that could go wrong is that when I'm filming away from home the camera I am using may run out of battery or another thing is that the camera's memory could run out. In order to prevent this from happening I will have a spare memory card with me and also will have spare batteries. A lot of time is saved if this is done.
Another thing that could go wrong is that your tape that you are using could be damaged. This happened to one of my friends in a practise video that he produced. He had to film all the footage again and this adds a time delay on when the prduct is finished. I would get around this by filming the footage on a different tape, or filming the footage twice or more to make
sure I don't lose it.

Cast members

The main character in my music video is my brother. He will be miming the song and most of the video will be based around him. I have spoken to him and made sure he is fine with this and he is up for the challenge. There will be many other people that will be involved in my music video including, my friends, Robbie Thompson, My Dad, and my other friend. There will be many more people included in the video that have yet to be decided but I have a general idea on who will be involved.
My brother, who is 13 will be appealing for my target audience which is his sort of age group. They will find it funny and also hopefully inspirational as the video is also about expressing yourself. The song and its lyrics is all about people nto caring about what anyone else thinks about them.

Some of the shots that my brother is in include him doing all sorts of different things and doing various different things in his life. These things could be things like: Playing games consoles, playing football or different sports, on his bike and just random things in general.

Struggles

I have struggled so far with coming up with an idea to use for my story board. I want to interpret the lyrics a lot with the video and link what is said in the song to the video.
Another thing that i am struggling with is the fact that I am struggling at the minute to find enough cast members to be in my video.
I need to create a cast members list and try and sum up a list of good and willing actors that will be starring in my video.

Shot location Ideas..

Shot Location Ideas:

• At a party when there is a lot of people who would all be willing to feature in one of the dance scenes that is in my video.
• Another one of my shots will be on a standard street. This is because it links to the lyrics on the song.
• I will be filming most of my shots near my house as there aren't too many props needed for the filming.
• A main location for the filming will be my back garden as it is long enough and ideal for filming a good shot.
• An ideal area to film some of the more basic shots will be at Wyke college. This is due to the fact that is easy access and I know that it is available at all times. Also that there is, more often than not available to use without any noise disruption.
• Most of my filming will be done at home as the main character in my music video is my brother and it would be very difficult to get him into college.

EXPRESS YOURSELF

I have chosen to use this song to build a video around. This is because i would like to produce an abstract/animatic music video. This song is very unique in the manner that it is very fun and a cheery song. The song is about being yourself and doing what you want to do. I believe that the video could open up so many ideas for my music video. I already have many ideas about what to base my video on and i am excited to start my storyboard.
